About The Position

The Clark County School District (CCSD) is seeking qualified candidates for the 2026-2027 school year for the position of Elementary School Counselor. This role is crucial in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The counselor will work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to create a positive and effective learning environment. Responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and developing programs to address student needs.

Requirements

Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
Valid Nevada School Counselor license or eligibility for licensure.
Experience working with elementary school students.
Knowledge of child development and counseling theories.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and stakeholders.
Experience with crisis intervention and management.
Proficiency in using technology for record-keeping and communication.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
Experience with social-emotional learning (SEL) programs.
Experience in data analysis to inform counseling strategies.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs.
Conduct needs assessments and develop strategies to address student issues.
Provide crisis intervention and support to students in distress.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
Facilitate parent education and support groups.
Maintain confidential student records.
Advocate for students' needs within the school and community.
Participate in professional development activities.
Assist with student transitions (e.g., kindergarten to first grade, elementary to middle school).
