About The Position

This position is for a Counselor at Independence Inn V. The role involves ensuring residents receive quality care in health, safety, clothing, hygiene, and meals. It also includes establishing daily routines, supervising activities, managing behavior, and attending to residents' educational, vocational, and health needs. The counselor is expected to model positive behavior and contribute to a safe and caring environment. Fieldwork and other assigned tasks may also be part of the role.

Requirements

• High School diploma is required.
• Three years’ experience working with adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that residents are provided with quality care in matters of health, safety, clothing, hygiene, and meals
• Establishes ADL routines including house jobs, room chores, wake-ups, and lights-out, laundry, cooking, etc.
• Supervises individual and group activities such as trips, sporting events, crafts, etc. Upholds all elements of behavior management system, including restriction system, negotiations, and a repertoire of confrontation techniques and responses.
• Attends to the educational/ vocational, health and mental health, etc.
• Models positive behavior at all times while confronting negative behavior
• Commits to the mission of the program by supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and caring environment
• Complete field work as needed
• Any other assigned tasks
