About The Position

A Step Ahead PHP is seeking a Counselor for their Partials program, working 10 months out of the year. This role involves the direct care and management of patients within a partial care treatment center, focusing on children and adolescents. The position operates Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Requirements

• MUST have a bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.
• Experience with children in behavioral & mental health.
• BA in Psychology, Social Work or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a therapeutic and safe environment for all patients.
• Facilitates regular therapeutic groups that address specific identified treatment issues and reinforces the patient’s treatment plan.
• Provides observational feedback within the multidisciplinary team context.
• Accurately records daily patient progress in the medical record as well as completing other required paperwork.
• Rides along with the van driver to transport patients to and from the program.
• Maintains certification in Handle with Care behavior management system.
• All other duties as assigned.
