About The Position

This position involves providing clinical services to a diverse population including outpatient adults, children, adolescents, and adults with alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid health problems. The role requires intervention, assessment, treatment planning, triage, and various forms of therapy. Clinicians are responsible for timely and accurate documentation to meet all contractual, licensure, and organizational requirements. The position also requires meeting productivity standards and collaborating with internal and external service providers.

Requirements

  • Must have a master's degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology).
  • Agrees to follow all applicable laws and regulations, including VBHCS Standards of Conduct and VBHCS Policies and Procedures.
  • Must complete all documentation necessary to meet contract, licensure, and appropriate behavioral health organization requirements pertaining to these services in a timely manner per VBHCS standards.
  • Must meet the productivity standards as outlined by VBHCS, based on the number of hours worked per month.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the community setting with adults who have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid mental health problems.
  • Counseling experience with adults.
  • Understanding of psychotropic medications or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to outpatient adults, children, adolescents, and adults with alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid health problems.
  • Conduct intervention, assessment/intake, treatment planning, triage, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or play therapy.
  • Ensure timely completion of all documentation necessary to meet contract, licensure, and behavioral health organization requirements.
  • Meet productivity standards as outlined by VBHCS.
  • Provide individual therapy, intakes, assessments (e.g., DLA 20, Columbia Suicide Assessment, PHQ9), discharge planning, treatment planning, appropriate referral to internal/external services and support systems, and staffing of consumers.
  • Provide services to adults, children, youth, and their family systems.
  • Liaise and/or consult with other service providers and referral sources, including courts, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, and state agencies, to achieve treatment goals.
