About The Position

YOU Inc. is seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Mentor (Counselor II) to provide one-on-one, community-based support to youth enrolled in the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) program. In this role, you’ll work directly with young people to strengthen social skills, emotional regulation, and daily living abilities, helping them succeed at home, in school, and in their communities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field + 1 year experience, OR
  • Associate’s degree + 2 years experience, OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 2+ years experience working with youth
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance required

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to youth in home and community settings.
  • Help youth build skills in communication, emotional regulation, and daily living.
  • Serve as a positive role model, fostering trust and engagement.
  • Support youth in real-world settings such as parks, libraries, and recreational activities.
  • Reinforce treatment goals through hands-on, practical experiences.
  • Develop and implement structured, age-appropriate lesson plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Work closely with a master’s level clinician to align mentoring with treatment goals.
  • Participate in weekly consultations and provide progress updates.
  • Communicate regularly with families and caregivers to support consistency and success.
  • Complete timely and accurate progress notes and service documentation.
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and team meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with CBHI and agency standards.
