About The Position

This position involves providing crisis counseling services to crime victims, requiring advanced knowledge of crisis intervention, victimology, and trauma-informed care. Additional duties include assisting victims and their family members with accessing community resources and programs, maintaining client files and statistical data, preparing and presenting training to interns and the community, and participating in regularly scheduled collaborative meetings with police investigators, prosecutors, and social service agencies. Candidates will be subject to a polygraph exam and criminal history check due to access to Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS). In accordance with CJIS requirements, candidates must not have any criminal conviction as an adult or juvenile above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered. A résumé must be submitted with the application.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, with major course work in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field
• Two years of relevant experience
• Must not have any criminal conviction as an adult or juvenile above the grade of a Class B misdemeanor or any Class B misdemeanor within the past 10 years; other convictions may also be considered

• Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills
