About The Position

Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses. The Central Receiving Facility (CRF) of Lakeview Center serves as a single-entry point for persons with mental health or co-occurring disorders from Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. The CRF is a 24-hour continuous operations unit that serves voluntary clients as well as individuals brought to the facility under the Baker Act or Marchman Act. Services offered include but are not limited to assessment, Crisis Support/Emergency Services, Case Management, Recovery Support, medication initiation and management. The position of Counselor I - Central Receiving involves providing therapeutic services to clients within the scope of training, protocols, and competence, and within the requirements of applicable statutes. Therapeutic services include assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person-centered services, and management of client risk and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling education, mental health counseling or human services field.
  • Must be able to pass advanced level CPI Training.
  • Must be able to obtain provided CPR certification.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside, a good driving record and be insurable under the corporate policy.
  • A Level II background screening is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic services to clients within scope of training, protocols, and competence, and within requirements of statutes applicable to the position.

  • Provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
