Department of Psychiatry at Banner University Medicine - Tucson is growing and actively interviewing for a Masters Level Independently licensed LCSW or LPC to join our Early Psychosis Intervention Center (EPICenter) at the Whole Health Clinic in providing exceptional patient care patients. The most qualified candidate will join our collegial and highly trained team in the delivery of evidence-based care in an outpatient setting to adolescents and young adults in the early stages of a psychotic illness. Established in 2010, EPICenter is a leading program in the field seeking to reduce the impact of early psychosis through symptom alleviation, and reintegration into the community. At EPICenter, patients and their family receive evidence-based specific treatment, get help with educational and professional goals, and be part of a supportive community. Our top candidate will ideally have experience in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and/or experience with First Episode Psychosis or willing to train to work with first episode psychosis population and also learn Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing clinical care to our patients in close collaboration with all team members and support advocacy and community building initiatives. Location: Whole Health Clinic 535 N. Wilmot Rd, Suite 201 Tucson AZ 85711 Clinic Hours: Monday - Thursday 8a -7p Friday 8a-5p 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday No weekends, no on-call required Banner University Medical Group is our nonprofit faculty practice plan associated with the University of Arizona Colleges of Medicine in Phoenix and Tucson. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides clinical assessment and psychotherapy services for defined patient population. Services are provided to patients, families and/or groups and may be in both inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Position provides treatment in one or more of the following areas: substance abuse, emotional and behavioral issues, eating disorders and other mental disorders as outlined in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM).

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services field, or educational requirement as mandated by state board in order to maintain licensure in field of specialty.
Behavioral Health Licensure is required in field of specialty as mandated by state board or regulatory agency. Depending on area of focus, may require a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) as mandated by state board.
Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 2 years experience in a behavioral health setting.
Requires ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required in treating patients in area of assigned specialty.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.

Responsibilities

Provides assessment and direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups. Coordinates all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, interacting with the physician and other members of the clinical treatment team to provide quality patient care. Must be independently licensed in Arizona to bill out appropriate CPT codes for independently license clinicians.
Provides education and orientation for patients, families and others to assigned treatment program to aid in therapeutic process. Collaborates with the patient in the development of a written treatment plan. Includes patient and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning.
Monitors patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions. Documents clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care.
Actively participates as member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintains effective working relationships with physicians and peers.
May provide clinical updates to representatives of managed care to assure coordination and reimbursement of treatments services. May conduct cognitive testing and document results.
Coordinates with community-based providers to assure optimal levels of care post discharge and to maximize treatment outcomes.
Provides critical assessments and appropriate treatment plan; Manages and provides direct care of patients in behavioral health treatment program (may be specialty area or across disciplines). Monitors, reassesses and documents treatment programs. Interacts with patients, families, groups, all levels of clinical staff in assigned program, physicians. External contacts include managed care providers, community resources, and referral agencies.
May provide indirect supervision to associate level therapists to support the process of becoming independently licensed. This may include weekly supervision and appropriate documentation.
May be required to review and sign off on clinical documentation, such as treatment plans and assessments from non-licensed staff within 72 business hours of completion.
