The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a Part Time Pool Counselor specializing in Athletics. This role is part of the Counseling Department faculty and is committed to the academic success, personal growth, and self-actualization of student athletes. The counselor will provide services related to transfer, vocational/occupational programs, career and academic skills development. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of NCAA/NAIA eligibility standards, transfer requirements, recruitment processes, admission timelines, and academic planning strategies to support student-athletes in transferring to four-year institutions. The counselor will assist students in developing and achieving their academic and occupational goals, teach counseling courses, lead workshops, orientations, and seminars, and assist in developing and implementing retention programs. The role involves participating in the planning of support programs for student athletes in partnership with campus clubs, community, and advocacy groups. Active participation on campus and within the broader community through committee service and leadership roles is expected. Assignments may include a combination of day and evening hours.
