About The Position

The Counselor Assistant works at the Men's Stabilization/Rehabilitation Residence located at 68 Quaker Rd, Queensbury, NY 12804. The shift is every Saturday and Sunday from 12am to 8am. This role involves monitoring and observing the physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients, conducting rounds, and logging information. The assistant is responsible for daily and nightly monitoring and reporting on client rooms, kitchen, and common areas for program compliance, health, safety, and security. They report progress at every shift change, provide motivation, support, and encouragement to residents for their goals, and log telephone calls, personal visits, and significant events into the Residential logbook. The role also includes managing and reporting incidents, performing urine drug screens, and making calls to emergency services (ambulance, fire department, police) as needed.

Requirements

• Valid New York State driver license.
• CPR and First Aid certified preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and observing the physical, mental, and emotional status of admitted clients day or night.
• Completing rounds and logging information.
• Daily and nightly monitoring and reporting on all Residential client rooms, kitchen, and common areas for program compliance, health, safety, and security.
• Reporting progress on residence at every shift change.
• Providing assistance to residents, including motivation, support, and encouragement for client goals.
• Logging telephone, personal visits, and significant events or information during your shift into the Residential logbook.
• Assuming responsibility for managing and reporting incidents.
• Performing urine drug screens as needed.
• Making calls to local ambulance service, fire department, or police as needed.
