About The Position

The Counselor Advocate - Illinois Domestic Abuse will provide domestic violence services to youth and adults in the service area who identify as child witnesses to domestic violence/survivors of teen dating violence/survivors of domestic violence. This position will provide individual, family, and group counseling, advocacy, case management, and safety planning for individuals affected by domestic violence in Rock Island County and parts of Henry County. In addition, this position will provide outreach, awareness, and training to organizations, schools, systems, and agencies in order to address the unique needs of this population, as well as increase identification and, therefore, referral to services, as well as access to services. This position may participate in the on-call rotation, providing 24-hour in-person crisis response to survivors as requested. This position requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance. These responsibilities are carried out under the direction of the Supervisor - Illinois Domestic Abuse. This position requires a flexible schedule that may include working some nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license in good standing and a vehicle with appropriate auto insurance are required.
  • Must be able to pass the motor vehicle record background check.
  • Participation in on-call rotation is required.
  • Requires reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
