Jean Tweed is a leading, community-based organization that provides a supportive environment for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. Recognizing the diversity of women’s experience in today’s society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman’s life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns. The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns. The Intake Department coordinates the activities of the Centre’s Intake & Support and Stabilization programs, and to provide both indirect and direct services. This includes assessment, group facilitation, case management, participation in the planning, development and evaluation of the department. The department also does administration related to treatment-matching including the review and interpretation of assessment information, and completion of documentation related to client admissions. How will you help us get there: The Intake Counsellor provides access to a continuum of services at the Centre including engagement, assessment, stabilization, and treatment matching. The role offers direct support to women in each of these service areas, coordinates daily activities of the Intake Department.
