The Doe Run Company is seeking a Counsel to provide legal support, guidance, and advice to the company in various areas of law. This position is based out of our Corporate Office in St. Louis, MO. Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and one of the largest lead producers in the Western Hemisphere. Dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production, Doe Run has facilities in Missouri, Washington, and Arizona and operates one of the world's largest, single-site lead recycling facilities, located in Boss, MO. Using innovative mining techniques, Doe Run skillfully taps one of the largest lead deposits in the world. Requirements

  • At least 3 years practicing as an attorney with litigation experience
  • Knowledge in other areas of law is a plus and must be willing to learn
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Missouri Bar license
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of legal document management systems and document review programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High aptitude for learning

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to the company in litigation, commercial and real estate transactions, regulatory compliance (environmental, safety, occupational health, etc.), corporate law, and other areas as directed.
  • Assist with litigation and work closely with outside counsel, review pleadings and motions, assist with complex discovery (including e-discovery, discovery requests and responses, and collection and production of documents), and respond to subpoenas.
  • Provide legal advice during negotiations of contractual arrangements.
  • Draft and review contract language.
  • Other duties as assigned.
