About The Position

Nelson Mullins is seeking an attorney to join its litigation team in the Downtown Los Angeles office. This is a unique opportunity to join an expanding practice that offers a range of litigation services to clients in a variety of industries. The Downtown Los Angeles office is located in the historic Bunker Hill neighborhood, within walking distance of Los Angeles County’s busiest state, federal, appellate, and complex courthouses. The office has established a preeminent trial practice and handles high value business/commercial litigation, complex litigation, products liability, consumer class actions, toxic torts, privacy, false advertising, greenwashing, and general negligence/premises liability. Attorneys serve as national, regional, and trial counsel to Fortune 200 companies and global entities across various industries, with a proven track record of detail-driven case work-up, creative client counseling, and defense verdicts nationwide. The office also reflects the city's diversity and engages in pro-bono efforts in civil rights and impact litigation.

Requirements

At least 8+ years of meaningful experience in handling product liability and toxic tort litigation matters in a mid-size or large law firm setting.
Exceptional oral and written advocacy skills with strong academic credentials.
Adept in case management, ready to take the lead.
Admitted to and in good standing with the California Bar.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the areas of asbestos, talc and/or silica litigation.

Responsibilities

Draft and argue discovery motions, dispositive motions, and/or class certification motions.
Draft and prepare pleadings and discovery.
Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
Manage document production.
Argue discovery, dispositive motions, and/or class certification motions.
Assist in both jury trials and bench trials.
Bring an entrepreneurial spirit to a growing office.
