Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and eligibility for admission as Virginia Corporate Counsel.
  • 4–7 years of legal experience in a nationally recognized law firm, government agency, corporate legal department, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience managing litigation, government investigations, or other complex disputes in a law firm, corporate, or government setting.
  • Meaningful experience advising on U.S. federal government contracts and public procurement matters, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related procurement laws or regulations.
  • Experience coordinating complex legal matters involving multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting internal investigations and developing practical, risk-based recommendations.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical ability, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex matters while balancing competing priorities.
  • Executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships across legal and business functions.
  • Collaborative, business-oriented approach to solving complex legal problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with bid protests, Contract Disputes Act claims, or other government contracts disputes.
  • Experience advising on the FAR, DFARS, or other federal agency procurement regulations.
  • Experience supporting False Claims Act investigations or litigation.
  • Experience responding to investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, Offices of Inspectors General, or State Attorneys General.
  • Experience managing significant e-discovery and document preservation efforts.
  • Prior in-house legal experience.
  • Experience conducting sensitive corporate or personnel misconduct investigations.
  • Active Top Secret (or higher) security clearance.
  • Ability to commute to Arlington, Virginia for periodic legal team meetings and occasional in-person business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of litigation, government contracts disputes, bid protests, claims, and other contentious matters from pre-dispute through resolution.
  • Serve as the Company's strategic lead on assigned matters by coordinating business stakeholders, directing outside counsel, and developing litigation and resolution strategies.
  • Manage outside counsel, including litigation strategy, staffing, budgets, work plans, and overall performance to ensure efficient and effective matter management.
  • Advise legal and business leadership regarding legal, financial, operational, and reputational risks, providing practical, business-oriented recommendations aligned with Company objectives.
  • Conduct sensitive internal investigations involving legal, regulatory, ethics, security, employee misconduct, and policy compliance issues.
  • Develop investigation plans, conduct witness interviews, evaluate evidence, prepare findings and recommendations, brief stakeholders, and support implementation of corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Advise on disputes and compliance matters arising under U.S. public procurement laws and regulations, including federal government contracting. This includes matters involving the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), False Claims Act, FAR Mandatory Disclosure Rule, and related procurement regulations.
  • Support Company responses to government investigations and enforcement matters, including matters involving the U.S. Department of Justice, Offices of Inspectors General, and State Attorneys General.
  • Oversee litigation holds, document preservation, e-discovery strategy, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Compliance, Security, Human Resources, Government Relations, Marketing and Communications, and business leadership to resolve complex legal matters.
  • Support and promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance throughout the organization.
