About The Position

Lenovo is seeking a high-impact technology senior lawyer to join its AI Global Legal team. This role will work closely with lead AI counsel and the global legal and regulatory team to understand, influence, and interpret global regulations and laws related to Artificial Intelligence as they apply to Lenovo’s business and products. The position will assist a worldwide multi-functional team in implementing compliance processes and provide counsel to diverse client groups regarding legal and regulatory matters concerning artificial intelligence. The AI Legal Team is responsible for advising business and technology teams on the development, deployment, and commercialization of AI-enabled products, services, tools, and internal systems globally. The team acts as Lenovo’s primary legal authority on AI regulation and governance, offering practical, risk-balanced guidance on emerging global requirements, including AI, privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, intellectual property, product, and sector-specific regulatory frameworks. In addition to supporting product and commercial initiatives, the AI Legal Team collaborates within and co-manages Lenovo’s Responsible AI Governance Program, develops corporate AI policies and standards, and partners with engineering, product, security, privacy, ethics, compliance, government affairs, and business leadership teams to enable responsible and innovative AI deployment across the company. As part of Lenovo’s Responsible AI Governance Program, the successful candidate will be instrumental in the Responsible AI review process and will support the Responsible AI Council (RAIC), Lenovo’s cross-functional executive governance body responsible for overseeing the implementation of Lenovo’s Corporate AI Policy and reviewing AI projects that pose significant legal, ethical, regulatory, or business risks. The review process involves assessing new AI initiatives through a structured intake and governance framework, coordinating with legal, privacy, security, ethics, and compliance stakeholders, evaluating regulatory and operational risks, recommending appropriate controls and mitigations, and preparing matters for executive review when necessary. This role demands close collaboration with senior business and technical leaders to ensure AI innovation is deployed responsibly, compliantly, and in alignment with Lenovo’s values and global governance standards.
