About The Position

As a Cost Strategy Intern at iA, a leader in pharmacy automation, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting cost accounting and manufacturing finance processes in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Based in Johnson City, NY, this internship will provide exposure to cost data analysis, inventory reconciliation, manufacturing variance review, and month-end close activities, including EAC/POC costing. The iA Intern Program is a 10-week summer internship, running from, Tuesday June 1, 2027, through Friday, August 6, 2027.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a strong interest in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and operational reporting.
  • Effective communicator—both written and verbal—with the ability to summarize findings clearly.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data, reconciliations, and reporting tools.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. Employer will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or internship experience in accounting, finance, cost accounting, manufacturing, or operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or accounting/finance systems used in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily review of cost data responsibility reports to support timely and accurate cost accounting activities.
  • Review From/To postings and manufacturing variances to help identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for follow-up.
  • Support weekly cycle count audits and inventory reconciliations to promote inventory accuracy and operational alignment.
  • Participate in month-end cost close activities, gaining exposure to key cost accounting processes and controls.
  • Assist with analysis related to Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Percentage of Completion (POC) costing.
  • Partner with Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to support reporting, reconciliation, and continuous improvement efforts.
