About The Position

The Cost Planning Specialist creates, summarizes, and analyzes estimates to support product cost-reduction activities and follows up on progress. The role involves understanding cost structures and cost conditions, developing plans, promoting activities, and tracking results, including customer cost recovery and setting reduction targets for purchasing or engineering. The specialist reports cost and profit status to managers, coordinates with others to achieve targets, raises problems or delays and promotes solutions, and assesses the cost impact of drawings or process changes. The role also summarizes cost estimates and clearly explains cost and profit status to colleagues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of profit and loss.
• Experience leading small-group projects.
• Presentation skills.
• Ability to learn technical expertise.
• Microsoft Office skills.
