About The Position

The Cost Planning Specialist creates cost estimates, summarizes and analyzes cost information, and promotes and follows up on product cost-reduction activities. The role involves understanding cost structures and conditions, developing plans, setting reduction targets for purchasing or engineering, and pursuing cost recovery from customers. The specialist reports cost and profit status to managers, follows up with others to achieve targets, flags problems or delays, and promotes solutions. The role also assesses the cost impact of drawings and process changes, shares status and agrees on next actions with others, and clearly explains cost estimates to help others understand cost and profit status.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General knowledge of profit and loss.
• Experience leading small group projects.
• Presentation skills.
• Ability to learn technical expertise.
• Microsoft Office skills.
