About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. We are hiring a Cost Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. This non-exempt role reports to the Project Manager or Planning Supervisor and performs non-routine cost/estimating assignments requiring the application of resource monitoring and control principles, techniques, and technical knowledge of a construction project. The position involves performing a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Two (2) years of similar construction cost/estimating experience or equivalent combinations of training and related experience
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Working knowledge and ability to select/apply resource monitoring and control techniques (e.g., cost accounting, budget analysis)
  • Understanding of the nature of process systems, structures, and construction technology
  • Must pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks required to develop and maintain budgets for a portion of a project, including coding timesheets and invoices.
  • Support supervision or construction management through preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts, including identifying potential cost overruns and reforecasting over-expended accounts.
  • Supervise the updating of construction forecasts to reflect the most accurate and current cost and estimate information.
  • Interface with other construction departments to provide cost/budget data for items such as subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and expenditure control.
  • May provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical and entry-level professional personnel assigned to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
