As a Cost Consultant/Senior Cost Consultant, you will support or lead (depending on level) the delivery of cost management services, including: Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan. Preparing Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design for commercial, institutional and residential projects throughout Canada Managing estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan Ensuring that cost analysis, cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively Participating in Value engineering, LEED analysis and Life Cycle costing Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts. Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all projects stages. Preparing Mechanical/Electrical cost estimates for all asset classes, and at all levels of design, related to real estate throughout Canada Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to appropriate line manager and utilize marketing database.

Requirements

  • Strong presentation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD, Navisworks, or related software is an asset.
  • Strong organizational abilities, multitasking capability, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Good understanding of construction procurement methodologies.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life‑cycle costing.
  • Exposure to or involvement in business development activities.
  • Experience preparing mechanical and electrical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems is considered an asset.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organizations (i.e. RICS, CIQS, AACEI).
  • Certification or designation from a professional organization is an asset (i.e. MRICS, PQS, CCP)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering and design is a priority.
