About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to support construction and facility-related projects in a manufacturing environment. This position will focus on cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, project budgeting, cost control, earned value, change orders, procurement support, and project financial closeout. The ideal candidate will have strong construction estimating and cost-control experience and be comfortable reviewing engineering drawings, contractor proposals, project budgets, payment applications, and field progress.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed design-phase cost estimates and establish project baseline budgets and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (QTO) using architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and BIM models.
  • Lead Value Engineering (VE) reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining design intent and structural integrity.
  • Track project expenditures, committed costs, and work-in-place.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to evaluate project performance, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Variance at Completion (VAC).
  • Develop and maintain monthly cash-flow forecasts and draw schedules.
  • Review, audit, negotiate, and validate subcontractor change orders against contract allowances and market pricing.
  • Assist procurement with development of scope packages and evaluation of contractor bids.
  • Perform financial risk assessments of major vendors and subcontractors.
  • Review contractor G702/G703 payment applications and lien waivers against verified field progress.
  • Support project closeout through final financial reconciliations, contingency settlement, and subcontractor account audits.
