About The Position

Worldwide Foam is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accounting Specialist to join its finance team in Elkhart, Indiana. The role analyzes manufacturing costs, identifies trends, and partners with operations to inform business decisions. The position supports accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting, with insights that affect profitability and operational performance. It is a full-time, exempt role reporting to the Controller. A comprehensive background check and drug screening are conditions of employment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 3 years of cost accounting experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting methodologies.
Experience with ERP and costing systems such as Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, or similar platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing and operational costs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Maintain and update standard costs for inventory and manufactured products.
Track and report cost of goods sold, including expected versus actual performance.
Monitor and reconcile variance accounts while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Create, maintain, and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and item master data.
Partner with operations teams to support cost analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses for management.
Assist with cross-functional projects and support the accounting and finance team as needed.
