About The Position

Revolution is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to lead our cost accounting function and provide financial insight into our manufacturing operations. This role will oversee manufacturing cost accounting, inventory and COGS, standard costing, variance analysis, and related month-end reporting. The Cost Accounting Manager will manage a small team and partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to ensure accurate product costing, strengthen inventory controls, understand cost and margin drivers, and identify opportunities to improve profitability. The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing cost accounting experience within the food and beverage or CPG industry, with prior public accounting experience considered a strong plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant manufacturing cost accounting experience.
  • Previous experience managing or developing accounting professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, COGS, variance analysis, and manufacturing cost drivers.
  • Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel and ERP system skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with both Finance and Operations teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Food and beverage, CPG, or similar high-volume manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • CPA or CMA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costs, inventory valuation, COGS, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs across materials, labor, overhead, and finished goods.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including material usage and pricing, labor, overhead, yield, waste, and production efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods, including reconciliations, reserves, and physical inventory.
  • Lead cost accounting activities for month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
  • Analyze COGS, gross margin, and SKU/product profitability and communicate key drivers to leadership.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to identify cost-saving and margin improvement opportunities.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs, inventory, and COGS.
  • Support new product costing and evaluate the financial impact of product, sourcing, and manufacturing changes.
  • Develop and improve cost accounting processes, reporting, controls, and systems.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a small accounting team.
  • Support internal and external audits related to inventory and cost accounting.
