Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
6+ years of related experience
Cost Accounting background required
Strong computer knowledge including Excel required
Working knowledge of inventory accounting concepts, including inventory valuation methods, cost of goods sold (COGS), purchase price variance (PPV), and inventory reserves required
Proficiency in account reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial analysis, with the ability to identify trends, discrepancies, and potential financial risks required

Nice To Haves

CPA Certification is a plus
Public accounting experience preferred
Knowledge of Sage X3 and Controller consolidation reporting desirable

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead
Maintain standard costs and update them periodically based on actual performance
Support the month-end close process through cost variance analysis and journal entries
Analyze inventory valuations and reconcile with general ledger accounts
Support internal and external audits with cost-related documentation and analysis
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling to support business planning
Support the operations finance/manufacturing accounting functions by providing/assisting in plant reporting, compilation, and analysis, performing month-end close activities, performing bill of material maintenance, and assistance with product standard cost integrity
Ensure costing integrity across all systems, transactions, and products
Investigate and explain actual vs. standard variances with precision
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide ad-hoc reporting as requested by management, owners, or project managers in a timely manner
Take the initiative to develop and improve any accounting functionality that could improve the company's financial position
