About The Position

We have an opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will support cost accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting. You will work closely with production and finance teams to monitor inventory, analyze variances, and maintain standard costs. Requirements

• Minimum three years’ experience in cost accounting or manufacturing.
• High School Diploma.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Advanced proficiency with various Enterprise Resource Planning systems, such as Sage or JD Edwards.
• Advanced computer skills, including advanced spreadsheet functions such as Pivot Tables and Lookups.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor the Work Order closure process.
• Perform all cost accounting responsibilities for month-end close.
• Review and enter daily production and consumption records.
• Verify monthly raw material, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory cycle counts.
• Audit and maintain cycle count documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness, maintaining compliance with counting frequency and completeness requirements.
• Monitor inventory and facilitate paperwork approval, tracking, and filing to maintain accuracy.
• Analyze data for discrepancies in manufactured product costs by reviewing manufacturing variances and identifying discrepancies in routings or bills of materials.
• Perform roll of standard costs and ensure all active raw materials and intermediate items have accurate standard costs.
• Ensure integrity of standard costs and item attributes that impact costing or standard accounting flows.
• Assist in the annual budget process with standard cost rate development.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
