About The Position

Seneca Foods Corporation has a career opportunity available at our Glencoe facility for an entry level Cost Accountant. We are looking for a qualified individual to demonstrate their ability to learn and grow with our Glencoe processing facility.

Requirements

• Demonstrated general knowledge of financial accounting procedures is required.
• Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word skills
• Must possess exceptional thoughtful and analytical skills, diligent with high attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, well organized.
• Agile and open to change.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently, effectively handle multiple competing priorities and manage deadlines under pressure. Resourceful!
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Proven ability to develop strong partnerships and influence at all levels of the organization. Must be collegial, with high integrity, and a team player.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience is not required but preferred in Accounting or Inventory.
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field desired

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable & Receiving
• Operational Tracking & Reporting
• Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
• Development and maintenance of standard costs
• Assist in the quarterly forecasting and bi-annual budgeting processes
• AG & Grower Accounting
• Assist Plant Controller on: Costing and Analysis Projects, Raw Product Scale Support, Payroll, On-Boarding of Seasonal Staff
