The Cost Accountant has responsibility for completing accounting transactions in accordance with accounting principles, collecting, compiling financial information, performing billing procedures, and preparing accurate and timely financial reports and accounting statements. This role involves performing General Ledger reconciliation, preparing various financial reports, managing fixed asset controls and depreciation, analyzing profit and loss statements, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. The Cost Accountant will also liaise with field operations for proper accounting treatment of transactions, prepare and monitor AFEs, and prepare product costing. Additionally, the role includes recording and reconciling intercompany transactions and facilitating mismatch reports. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing strategic advice, and delivering timely information are key aspects of this position. Employees are expected to be financially responsible, ensuring costs are within budget and processed according to policy. Participation in business planning, performance reviews, and strategic activities is also required, along with working with stakeholders to refine business models for planning and forecasting.
