About The Position

Pride Engineering, LLC designs and manufactures highly engineered, mission critical machine tools and equipment used globally in the production of two-piece metal cans for the beverage and food industries. Pride is looking for a Cost Accountant who will participate in all financial matters of the Company. You will play a key role in monthly closings and reporting key sales, cost and profitability measures to senior leadership team and review capital expenditures.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, accounting, or related financial roles with exposure to cost accounting systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Significant involvement in the monthly financial close process.
  • Experience supporting financial leadership within a small to mid-sized company or business division.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience working with databases and financial data.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI or similar reporting and analytics tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated desire to develop leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to partner effectively with the Controller and Management Team.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a commitment to supporting company growth and success.
  • Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.
  • Proven success in a private, fast-paced, and growing business environment preferred.
  • Experience improving, redesigning, or streamlining Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cost management
  • Review and process upgrade to current installed systems (SAGE 100 ERP & Scanco systems).
  • Maintaining work center labor and overhead rates.
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets
  • Preparation of Business Insurance Documents
  • Preparation of Censuses for Mfg and Cyber Security
  • Improve summarization and understanding of root cause behind variance information.
  • Support month-end close process, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial write-ups & reporting as well as Budget, Forecast, and other reporting.
  • Maintaining accuracy of sales, cost, order and backlog database (via download through Access to Excel pivot table environment).
  • Maintain accurate physical inventories counts and values by implementing a cycle count program.
  • Analyze AP/AR/Labor processes to gain efficiency via process improvement and/or use of bolt-on Software
  • Developing internal controls and fiscal policies
  • Building annual operating plans & forecast updates to meet Company growth and profitability goals
  • Maintaining cash reporting & cash forecasts
  • Managing the annual audit process
