About The Position

Daifuku Intralogistics North America is the nation’s leading independent, U.S.‐based provider of intelligent material handling systems. With hundreds of engineers in‐house, the company designs, manufactures, integrates, and installs the full spectrum of intralogistics solutions. We provide leading‐edge conveyor and sortation systems, voice and light‐directed order fulfillment equipment, controls and software, robotics, mezzanines, and structures. The Cost Accountant ensures the integrity of cost accounting information by planning, studying and collecting manufacturing data to determine activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of Cost Accounting experience in a public or private company
  • Knowledge of manufacturing / account accounting software and programs
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring Sponsorship
  • Must be available to work on-site daily in Hobart, Indiana
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Improve manufacturing costs and pricing processes, procedures and standards
  • Analyze and develop cost standards for materials and labor
  • Analyze manufacturing wastes and identify ways to reduce inventory and proactively communicate the findings to Management
  • Analyze inventory valuations & revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Support the Revit transition and coordinates interaction between finance and manufacturing
  • Scrutinize manufacturing cost variances & optimize profitability
  • Develops and maintains timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Assists with monthly closing process; posting journal entries and conducting reconciliations
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
  • Investigate, propose and spear head process improvements relating to manufacturing expenses
  • Participate and provide a support in internal / external auditing and other activities as requested
