About The Position

Cimarron is seeking experienced Cost Account Managers familiar with Space Operations and Ground Operations. The chosen candidate can work from the following locations: Northern VA, Seal Beach, Ca, or El Segundo, CA. This role involves establishing and maintaining budgets, defining scope, schedule, and budget for work packages, and implementing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance. The Cost Account Manager will analyze cost and schedule performance, identify variances, develop corrective actions, and brief leadership and customers on control account status. Risk management, coordination with functional teams, and ensuring compliance with DCMA, DCAA, and EVMS requirements are also key responsibilities. The position requires maintaining audit-ready documentation.

  • This position requires access to federal facilities.
  • Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Current TS/SCI or ability to obtain DoD TS from previously-held security clearance.
  • 5 or more years of general experience.
  • Familiar with EVMS and Earned Value; previous CAM experience.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain budgets for assigned Control Account Plans (CAPs).
  • Define and baseline the scope, schedule, and budget for assigned work packages.
  • Develop resource-loaded schedules aligned with program milestones.
  • Implement and maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance within assigned control accounts.
  • Calculate and report Earned Value (EV), Planned Value (PV), and Actual Costs (AC).
  • Analyze Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) to assess program health.
  • Identify and report variances at completion (VAC) and estimate at completion (EAC).
  • Prepare and submit timely Variance Analysis Reports (VARs) for cost and schedule variances exceeding threshold.
  • Identify root causes of variances and develop corrective action plans.
  • Brief program leadership and customers on control account status and performance trends.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate risks and opportunities within assigned control accounts.
  • Maintain risk registers and support program-level risk reviews.
  • Coordinate with functional leads, subcontract managers, and finance teams to ensure accurate cost and schedule reporting.
  • Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and other customer-facing reviews.
  • Ensure alignment between technical scope, schedule, and budget across disciplines.
  • Ensure control account activities comply with DCMA, DCAA, and program-specific EVMS requirements.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for all control account activities.
