About The Position

The Corrugator Singlefacer Operator is responsible for operating roll stands, managing the splicing process, and ensuring the efficient operation of the single facer machine. This role involves preparing rolls, threading paper, monitoring machine settings, and communicating any mechanical issues to the shift supervisor. The operator must maintain a neat work area, wear required personal protective equipment, and adhere to safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out. Key tasks include matching roll stock to run sheets, preparing rolls for splicing, and monitoring various machine parameters like moisture content, temperature, and hydraulic pressure.

Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler

Responsibilities

Matching roll stock with scheduled run sheet
Removing metal bands from roll and place in proper container
Preparing roll, placing peel in proper cart
Removing core plugs and discarding properly
Retrieving roll tag and entering roll in KIWI system
Placing roll on to delivery track and entering into respective machine
Operate roll stands by chucking up roll and guiding roll into the running position
Threading web into splicer and through machine
Preparing roll for splicing into “running roll”
Managing the splicing process
Monitoring moisture content and temperature of paper
Monitoring steam shower applied on medium
Checking and adjusting gap between glue and metering roll
Checking and adjusting gap between glue and core roll
Monitoring hydraulic pressure to pressure roll to core roll
Coordinating wet end operators to ensure efficient operation
Operate rod stands safely
Communication of mechanical issues to shift supervisor
Keep work areas and surrounding areas neat and orderly
Wear all required personal protective equipment
Safely lift up to 50 lbs throughout work shift
Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures
Counting and stacking finished product
Reading orders
