About The Position

The Plant Materials Engineering group is looking for a Corrosion Test Engineer who will lead the development, sponsorship, and reporting of material test programs for nuclear plant and structural materials, advancing technical knowledge of material performance and corrosion behavior. Testing may occur both in-house and at external sites, requiring occasional travel. These test programs will contribute to a deeper understanding of material performance for design, as well as support emergent fleet and manufacturing challenges. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in materials science, corrosion testing, and project management. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to lead technical initiatives and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field; or Currently an Advanced Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
  • Strong background in materials science, corrosion testing, and project management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • U.S. citizens.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Materials Science or Materials Engineering
  • Familiarity with material processing, manufacturing processes, material testing, and prior experience in mechanical and corrosion testing of materials
  • Knowledge of environmentally assisted cracking, fatigue and mechanical behavior in nickel-based alloys and stainless-steel alloys
