Due to continued growth, Taurus is seeking a qualified Corrosion Engineer for their Prairieville, Louisiana office, who will be assigned onsite at a client location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Requirements

BS or higher degree in materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related majors.
Working knowledge of applicable regulations and applicable industry organization standards and recommended practices (e.g. ASME, API, NACE, ASTM, ANSI).
Hold or be able to get certificates of API 510, 570, 571, and 653 within 3 years.

Related research background and/or chemical plant experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Data collection from design specification, process, inspection, and historical files for pressure vessels, piping, or storage tanks.
Perform corrosion research, including internal/external corrosion rate, corrosion mechanism, environmental cracks, and other damage mechanism evaluation and setting.
Develop and maintain Corrosion Control Documents (CCD).
Perform damage mechanism assessment for inspection, maintenance, and audit operations.
Participate in systemization for Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and circuitization for Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) for RBI assessment.
Perform cause/root cause analysis of damage mechanism research and improvement suggestions for leakage and VOC escape.
Participate in the review and audit of PSM operations and corrosion issues, such as management of change (MOC), process hazard analysis (PHA), and accident investigation.
Analyze and provide improvement suggestions for corrosion/crack problems in the plant.
