The Gas Transmission Corrosion Technician performs a variety of 49 CFR 192 compliance tasks on the gas transmission & storage system with the main focus being corrosion control. This role requires knowledge of corrosion fundamentals and the ability to inspect, monitor, and remediate atmospheric, external, and internal corrosion on NWE pipelines. The technician will become proficient in performing various cathodic assessment surveys, familiar with ILI assessments, and understand the requirements for installing and maintaining cathodic bonds. Additionally, the role involves familiarity with cathodic electrical isolation, AC inspections and mitigation, and the skills to build, inspect, install, and maintain rectifiers, ground beds, cathodic anode junction boxes, remote monitors, coupon test stations, and pipeline test stations. The position also requires proficiency in data collection, analysis, and maintenance within the American Innovations PCS database, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, codes, policies, and procedures. Travel to all areas of the gas system is expected, with overnight stays as needed, up to 50% per year. Training will be conducted outside the designated work location and may require additional travel for up to the first 3 years. The ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential. This position requires performing individual lifting and manipulating of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds and various other physical activities in a variety of weather extremes.
