About The Position

CP4 Inc., a subsidiary of Corrpro Canada, is a leading provider of multi-discipline cathodic protection engineering and technical solutions for the oil and gas industry in the US. The Field Technician will gain knowledge and experience on above ground pipeline assessment and cathodic protection systems utilizing the best-in-class technologies and equipment. The Corrosion Field Supervisor is responsible for supervision and coordination of the technical services team. The Field Supervisor oversees and trains the team of Corrosion Technicians and Corrosion Technologists, alongside planning and performing field surveys and projects for corrosion prevention and corrosion protection systems, evaluation of test result data, and installation of cathodic protection systems on a variety of structures. Candidates from Houston, TX and the surrounding areas are preferred.

Requirements

  • AMPP CP2 or greater required.
  • 10 or more years of professional experience, with mix of field and people leadership preferred.
  • Corrosion Control experience is required.
  • Must have strong communication, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team and internal customer service skills are a must.
  • Incumbents must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Position requires individual to have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower, to be a strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently.
  • Must be capable of making people management decisions and comfortable in a management position.
  • Possesses and applies comprehensive engineering knowledge of engineering principles to the completion of complex assignments.
  • Willingness to continue learning in a complex, dynamic environment.
  • Communication and interpersonal relationship building skills required.
  • Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, software platforms, field-related technology and presentation software.
  • Ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required.

  • CP2 & CIP (1 or 2) certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead field technicians, engineers, and technical teams to ensure adherence to cathodic protection practices, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate corrosion survey and field service activities with diverse technical teams.
  • Manage field team time tracking (mobilization and non-mobilization) and optimize operational utilization.
  • Develop manpower plans and business cases to support staffing and operational needs.
  • Train and mentor corrosion technicians and technologists at different career stages.
  • Conduct and oversee field surveys, integrity testing, and corrosion prevention system evaluations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret field data (e.g., structure-to-soil potentials, rectifier data) and diagnose system issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation including reports, specifications, procedures, and client recommendations.
  • Support project execution, act as field lead when required, and collaborate with internal experts and leadership.
  • Engage with clients professionally, contribute to proposals and cost estimates, and support performance management and capital planning.
