The purpose of this position is to inspect and maintain cathodic protection systems and equipment used for corrosion control to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Corrosion control utilizes chemistry, electricity, physics, metallurgy, and other sciences to mitigate or control corrosion damage through the application of cathodic protection to control the mechanical, electrical, and chemical aspects involved in the deterioration of a material (corrosion). For the Apprentice position: The purpose of this position is to provide a path for entry, training, and development for the successful candidate to have a career in the complex corrosion control discipline. The duties listed are activities associated with the various levels of the Corrosion Department progression. This progression covers the following general titles: Corrosion Apprentice/Trainee, Corrosion Technician I, Corrosion Technician II, Corrosion Technician III.
