As a Corrosion Engineering Co-Op, you’ll apply classroom knowledge to real engineering challenges that protect one of the nation’s most critical infrastructures. Each rotation builds on the last, giving you increasing responsibility and exposure to both field and corporate environments. Corrosion Prevention is responsible for maintaining the systems for preventing corrosion of the pipeline systems inclusive of line pipe, facility piping, and tanks. The Team provides oversight of various design, installation, testing, maintenance, and monitoring of the cathodic protection systems. The corrosion program includes corrosion inhibitors, coatings, cathodic protection and electrical interference mitigation. The team maintains compliance with all regulatory corrosion prevention requirements contained within 49 CFR Part 195 along with applying appropriate AMPP and other industry standards and best practices.
