About The Position
This position is for a Corrector for the GENOMICS course (BPS3101) during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves marking tests, assignments, mid-terms, and quizzes. The total work hours for this position are 80, with the majority allocated to grading. The work start date is September 01, 2026, and the work end date is December 31, 2026. The hourly rate depends on the student's status: undergraduate students will be paid $30.53/hour, and graduate students will be paid $36.63/hour (2024-2025 rates). These rates do not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. All University of Ottawa employees are required to complete mandatory legislated training.
Requirements
- Candidate must have the equivalent of a B.Sc. chemistry degree or its equivalent.
- All those who are not a Chemistry graduate student will be required to write a test to qualify (Unless already previously done).
- Successful completion of WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety workshops.
