About The Position

As a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Corrections, you help ensure that important materials reach the right place on time. You support a team that depends on accuracy and efficiency. This position supports the movement, storage, and tracking of inventory within the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart. The role helps maintain smooth warehouse and commissary operations.
Requirements
- One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Receive materials from vendors, inspect items, and verify documentation matches purchase orders
- Maintain adequate stock levels by conducting audits and ensuring proper storage
- Deliver inventory to designated locations and record movement accurately
- Guide inmates through work tasks, track attendance, and support safety in the work area
- Use forklifts, hand trucks, or similar equipment to move heavy materials
- Initiate requisitions and place supply orders through a database to maintain necessary inventory
