Corrections officers for the Miami County Sheriff’s Office are responsible for the intake and release and daily observation of inmates. The staff rotates work responsibilities between our two facilities. The “Full-Service Jail”, a linear, bar-style jail located in downtown Troy houses higher-classified inmates, while the “Minimum Security Facility”, an open, pod-style jail located on N. CR 25A north of the fairgrounds houses the lower-classified, mainly non-violent inmates. We currently operate on 12-hour shifts from 7a-7p and 7p-7a which offers correction officers every other weekend off and the ability to work 7 days in a 14-day period. Corrections officers’ main responsibility is the care, custody, and control of all inmates housed in our facilities.
