Corrections Maintenance Foreman - SCI Cambridge Springs
About The Position
The Department of Corrections is hiring a Corrections Maintenance Foreman at the State Correctional Institution at Cambridge Springs. The role leads inmate work crews and supports maintenance and repair work across the facility, while also performing hands-on work in various trades to support daily operations. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a schedule of 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Telework is not available. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, is required. Candidates must be able to perform the essential job functions and pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements. Requirements
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise inmate work crews completing construction, maintenance, and grounds tasks.
- Plan daily schedules and review completed work for quality and accuracy.
- Instruct crews in the safe use and care of tools, machinery, and vehicles.
- Perform or assist with skilled and semi-skilled work in multiple trade areas.
- Issue, track, and inventory tools and materials, and conduct necessary searches.
- Determine needed supplies and submit purchase requests for tools and materials.
