Requirements
- Two years of professional experience as a barber.
- Possession of an active Barber Manager License issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Barber Examiners.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and hands-on guidance in barbering practices, methods, and techniques
- Maintain order and discipline during instruction and work assignments
- Plan, develop, and manage the barber training program in accordance with state guidelines
- Arrange testing opportunities for eligible inmates through the State Board of Barber Examiners
- Determine needed tools and supplies and submit purchase requests
- Issue, inventory, and account for all materials and tools, as well as conduct searches to ensure proper control
