About The Position

This position serves as a working supervisor and instructs individuals in custody in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials utilized in the Garment Shop. The role involves inspecting and reviewing all finished products for quality assurance, coordinating the production of all orders, and monitoring and checking individual in custody payroll. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and can multi-task.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years high school or completion of an approved training course.
  • Two (2) years supervisory experience in the garment industry.
  • Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six (6) months of employment.
  • Requires the physical ability to perform assigned duties.
  • Requires the ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires the ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Must file a Statement of Economic Interest.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the garment manufacturing industry.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in organizational logistics.
  • At least one (1) year of experience working with purchase contracts and/or service level agreements with vendors.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in inventory management.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in supervising production.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as working supervisor.
  • Instructs individuals in custody in the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials utilized in the Garment Shop.
  • Inspects and reviews all finished products for quality assurance before storing and shipping.
  • Coordinates the production of all orders.
  • Monitors and checks individual in custody payroll.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
