As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government correctional location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and access points to help identify unusual conditions and/or policy concerns.
  • Monitor and control entry and exit activity, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Support a professional environment by observing and reporting suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, and/or violations of site policies to appropriate personnel.
