As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government correctional location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and report security-related concerns. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a correctional facility environment.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access to controlled areas, verify authorization of personnel and visitors, and document entries, exits, and incidents in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate facility personnel and emergency responders as directed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and shift information to supervisors and site personnel.
