As a Corrections Facility Security Officer - Response in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a controlled environment. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license in the job state. You will provide professional communication and customer service while embodying Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values through teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, facility policies, and emergency response activities at a correctional facility.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, exit, and movement within assigned areas in accordance with site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and access points to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in accordance with site-specific requirements.
