The Department of Corrections is seeking an innovative and skilled data analyst to work within the Department's Research and Data Unit. Ideal candidates for the Corrections Analyst position will have experience with developing queries (preferably SQL), using Excel, and performing statistical analysis to fulfill data requests and reporting requirements. This position involves working with a team of analysts to collect, extract, clean, analyze, and report a variety of data to numerous audiences to support data-driven decision-making for the department. Strong statistical quantitative skills, including use of R or another statistical program is desired, as is experience using data visualization software (e.g., Power BI) and knowledge of creating infographics/other means of displaying complex data in an easy-to-understand format for external and internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to present data to small and large groups, to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and to maintain the privacy of confidential and/or personal information.
