About The Position

The purpose of the Correctional Services Consultant is to support and enhance workforce education programming by coordinating professional development, managing educator certification and recruitment, improving processes and policies, maintaining records, and assisting with operational and administrative tasks to ensure compliance and effective outcomes. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess four (4) years of professional experience in corrections, education or workforce development.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to questions and requests about educator certification and workforce education programs.
  • Organizes and supports training for workforce education staff at institutions.
  • Works with recruiting, certifying, and training educators for workforce education roles.
  • Supports workforce education, higher education in prison, and re-entry programs across the state.
  • Reviews and improves processes, policies, and records, and supports compliance and reporting for the Bureau.
