Correctional Sergeant l (Tabor CI)
About The Position
Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position is responsible for providing first-line supervision to Correctional Officer I’s in a minimum custody security facility. Job responsibilities include; but are not limited to, the following: - Assigning lower level custody staff to a particular area or post. - Overseeing officer activities and performance, and ensuring that the custody, security and welfare of offenders are maintained. - Assigning work schedules to ensure shift coverage, implementing operational procedures and ensuring rules and regulations are followed according to policy.
Requirements
- High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer
- Or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Facility Operations.
- Knowledge of Prisons’ Policy and Procedures.
- May require General Instructor Certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
